Friday Night Lights.

I've just watched this movie called Friday Night Lights. I loved it.

If follows the fortunes of an American High school football team, highlighting the pressures these 17 year olds are under not only from the team and the school, but the whole town. I didn't realize the amount of pressure they are placed under for a high school sport. With their dreams and aspirations hanging on every play, these kids lives are made or broken on Friday nights.

While this is a sports oriented movie, the sport is secondary. The kids are the story and their families and everyone around them. Highly recommended. You might even feel a moistness in your eyes at some point.

The next dvd I want to get is Hotel Rwanda. I know that will be hard to watch, but I just have to.

PS: No mention about my football team this week, the Pies lost to the Blues in another disappointing game. Luckily I wasn't at the game and no where near a TV to watch it. I can't see us winning another game this year, so last place is looking good for us. Where has the season gone?

I agree- a cracking film. A good book, too if you can track it down.

This test match is killing me. The light is going...... COME ON ENGLAND!

Alright, Ponting was equally as tough and cunning as Vaughn, honours even. On to Trent Bridge.

I'm begining to think that the series might be a draw....

Weasel, So close yet so far. Just couldn't managed that last wicket, similar to last week. This is killing me.

RM, the only pies that might make a final is the the Western Suburbs Magpies, oops, they don't exist any more do they?

Texas high school football is an incredible thing. They have crowds that rival professional teams and they're dead serious about it out there. I guess it comes from small town living...

Football is huge in texas alright, but Odessa-Midland (the towns where Friday night Lights is set, and home base of Pres Bush) is not a small town: the 2003 population was 241,316. I live in a small town- 4,500 people, but not in Texas (thank goodness).

Update.

There you go M!key, I gave you one.
Sorry been dragging the chain lately, post wise. Been concentrating on other areas this week. ANd when your footy team plays like crap and theres no cricket on, well, Clokeeey isn't inspired.

Also, I didn't see smoking mum in the carpark yesterday morning, I was hoping to have words with her but she never showed up. Actually, I might right a transcript of how the "chat" would have gone.... hmmmm.

In keeping with the twitter theme.
